Congratulations to the Chapel Hill Dojo members who participated in a challenging Summer Special Training in June, led by the inspiring Maurice Baker (Charlotte Dojo; front row, fourth from right in picture below): Jason Peck, Nora Favorov, Kim Guzan, Matthew Lubin, and Jesse Berg, as well as our former (but forever) member Cynthia Hsu. Sorry we didn’t manage a Chapel Hill group photo! Our seniors LH Lazarus and Rob Clark would have been proud to see how hard everyone pushed. We all got plenty of constructive criticism while there, which should help us bring better versions of ourselves to Winter Special Training.

A special congrats to our newly minted nidan, Jason Peck! His performance served as evidence (in addition to his own talents) that we have seniors in Chapel Hill who care about kata and precise and effective basic techniques.

And last but not least., congratulations as well to Hilmar Lapp, who attended Summer Special Training in the Midwest.
