At last Saturday morning’s practice we were honored to be joined by five members of SKA’s Charlotte Dojo, including two while belts and Maurice Baker (yodan), the dojo’s leader (left in front row in picture below). As most Saturdays, Chapel Hill senior and dojo founder LH Lazarus (godan) led one of his vigorous trademark practices with uncompromising instruction in kihon, the techniques that form our foundations, and kata.
Kudos to the Charlotte Dojo’s members who got in their cars before daybreak to arrive in time. That these included two white belts (Will & Will, right in last row) who have only been training for a few months is testament to the vitality of the dojo and the inspirational model set by its leader. (The other Charlotte members are Daemon Woods, second row left, and Paul Lopansri, second row 2nd from right.)
We pledge to reciprocate in the not too distant future!
